Common causes of a main line backup
Tree and shrub roots growing into pipe joints, years of grease and sludge narrowing the pipe, collapsed or offset sections in old clay or cast iron lines, flushed wipes and non-flushable items, and bellies in the line where waste settles and hardens.
Clear it, then confirm it
Clearing the clog restores flow, but a camera inspection tells you whether it was a one-time obstruction or a structural problem that will return. For root or grease causes we often recommend hydro jetting to fully clean the line and buy you far more time before the next issue.
