Drain Cleaning

Clear slow and clogged sinks, tubs, showers and toilets with professional-grade drain machines — not a temporary chemical fix.

Drain Cleaning by Nicks Drain Service in San Diego County

A slow or backed-up drain is one of the most common calls we get, and it is almost always fixable the same day. Nicks Drain Service clears clogged kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, tubs, showers and toilets throughout El Cajon and the greater San Diego area using professional cable machines and, where needed, high-pressure water — the same tools we use on commercial jobs.

Store-bought drain chemicals rarely solve the real problem and can damage older pipes. We locate the actual blockage, clear it mechanically, and confirm the line is flowing before we leave.

What we clear

Kitchen sink and garbage-disposal backups caused by grease and food buildup, bathroom sinks slowed by hair and soap, tub and shower drains, laundry standpipes, and toilets that clog repeatedly. If more than one fixture backs up at once, the problem is usually further down the line — which is where our camera inspection and main-line service come in.

How we do it

We start by identifying which line is affected and where the nearest cleanout is. For most branch drains we run a drum or sectional cable machine sized to the pipe to cut through the clog and pull it back. For grease-heavy or recurring blockages we recommend hydro jetting to scour the pipe wall clean rather than just punching a hole through the stoppage.

When a drain keeps clogging, we can drop a camera in to find out why — a belly in the line, root intrusion, or scale buildup — so you fix the cause once instead of paying for the same clog every few months.

Signs you need drain cleaning

  • Water pools and drains slowly in the sink, tub or shower
  • Gurgling sounds from drains or the toilet
  • Bad odors coming from a drain
  • A drain that clogs again shortly after being cleared
  • Multiple fixtures backing up at the same time

Drain Cleaning — FAQs

Do you offer same-day drain cleaning?
Yes. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week across El Cajon and San Diego County, and most drain clogs are cleared in a single visit.
Should I use a chemical drain cleaner first?
We do not recommend it. Chemical cleaners often fail on solid clogs, can sit in the pipe and damage older cast iron or plastic, and make the line hazardous to service. Mechanical clearing is safer and more reliable.
